discovery and delight
What a week it's been - plenty of work and difficult decisions and admin and even today a power 'outage' to use the American neologism plus my commitment to write a blog 6 days a week. Tonight again - that's twice this week - I sit here past midnight, past 1am even, fulfilling that mission.

This week there have been early commutes - 7.30am early. God bless the folk who do it 5 days a week all year round. Sweet sleep-deprived individuals sit in silence on the bus and endure jostle-anxiety and close proximity on the tube with grace and patience, for the most part.

But then Friday night. I have come to love Friday nights - coming back after having seen a show, as I have done tonight. The faces of people expanded, relaxed, at play with each other, a few drinks under the belt. The faces of those who didn't know till now they have had one too many and sit trying to compose themselves. Those with full-but-empty eyes, survivors of recent disappointment. And sometimes people over-brimming with delight and discovery.

Tonight I stole a moment. A rare, for me (due to the camera's limitations in low light and middistance) shot of human beings.
