Some more ways to shake up your practice and encourage your eye.

(See also the
‘you and your iPhone’ post on 26/11/2014 and also ‘creative camera phone’ post on 1/12/2014)

1 save the lost – shoot what someone else has thrown away

2 if you were an object or plant today, which one would you be? – take your 'self–portrait'

3 be the one – look for something in transition. a flower of rust, paint peeling. be the one to record this moment

4 try the impossible – can you photograph just one blade of grass?

5 shoot something you like

6  shoot something that annoys you

7 what? - shoot something you have a question about

8  notice a button – shoot

9 your own art gallery – imagine the street is a modern art gallery. let your lens frame pieces you like

10 catch the dazzle: - is the light shining through something? shoot

handy guidelines:
a be curious
b be careful and careless in equal measure
c take one and walk away
d take three shots, and just one more for good measure (later - see what your fresh eye saw, see what accident or extra consideration may have brought you. look for the value in each approach)
